Happy Thanksgiving!!

On this day, I am so very thankful for many things.

I am thankful for my husband, who constantly puts up with me (and my ridiculous shopping addiction). I couldn't have asked for a better partner in my life; someone who truly "gets me"...most of the time.

I am thankful for my mom, who without her I don't know where I'd be. (Well....I wouldn't be here I guess, but you get it.) She truly is my best friend, and I only hope my daughters and I will share the same kind of amazing relationship one day.

I am thankful for being chosen to be Kenley's mommy. There is no better job in the world than being a mother. She amazes me each day with a new word, a new facial expression, a new song...she's full of wonder. I absolutely love minds of children, especially my own.

I am thankful for the opportunity to be a mommy again to another beautiful daughter, due April 19th. It's a GIRL!!

I am thankful to having been born in this country. I could have been born in a much less fortunate situation, but I was chosen to be me...here...in a country that is full of opportunity.

Thank you God, for blessing me with an absolutely wonderful life. I am truly blessed.

And here's some pictures of some of my blessings....

Been a while, huh??

See...I'm not very good at this whole blogging thing. I try, but I just can't find time between everything else. We'll see how long I go before another update!

Here's what's been going on in the last 2 months:

1. Kenley got her first haircut. We decided to go to Cookie Cutters just for the experience and the cute pictures. I have a feeling I'll just be letting my cousin, Julie, cut it from now on. They cut her bangs WAY too short, and they are just now getting back to normal!

2. We went to the Indiana State Fair. Kenley's favorites: piggies and corn! :)

3. We played at the park with Kendall and Gaga....and got another bloody lip. :(

4. Kenley cheered on the Boilermakers and Colts, even though Purdue has proven to be less than fantastic this year!

5. Kenley turned 18 months old! To "celebrate" she got some sort of stomach bug, or she was just teething. She had "the poops" HORRIBLY for almost a month, accompanied by a terrible diaper rash. We spent a day collecting samples (fun times!) for 3 tests at the hospital, only to find all were negative and not contagious. We never really did figure it out, and there are no new teeth to explain it either. Who knows? She's finally getting back to eating, after dropping almost 5 lbs.

6. We went to the apple orchard, and found out Kenley LOVES apples. She doesn't like the cut up, though. She likes to hold it herself and take bites like a big girl. :)

7. Mommy got 2 ultrasounds. One at 9 weeks at the doctor's office at her first appointment. The other was at the Baby Expo at the Castleton 4D booth at 14 weeks. I was told they would look to see if it was a boy/girl, but when we actually got back there...the lady was not very nice and wouldn't even look anywhere near the legs. My 20 week ultrasound (when we will find out) is right before Thanksgiving.

We'll try to keep everyone more updated from now on, but I always say that! :)

Guess What??

Kenley has some news she would like to share with everyone...

That's right! Kenley will become a big sis in April! We're very excited!

Adventures in Cloth

When I was pregnant with Kenley and went to a local baby expo, I saw these crazy diapers people were selling that had velcro flaps or snaps and you washed! Craziness, right? Actually, not so much. I wanted to try them way back then, a whole 17 months ago, but my mom talked me out of it. Said I'd hate the laundry. (I do hate laundry.)

I'm not sure what came over me, but I decided when Kenley turned 16 months, I wanted to try the whole cloth diapering thing after all. SO...I asked a friend about it (she has twins close to the same age as Kenley), and she helped get me started in the right direction. A month later, I really do enjoy it. My mom still thinks I'm crazy, and she's yet to see that it will be cheaper (once I STOP buying new diapers!) in the long run. It's amazing how many diapers we were throwing away each week, not to mention the money we spent. I'm actually doing cloth wipes, now too....at home only though.

I'm still trying out different diapers, so I'm no where close to a Cloth Diapering Expert...but I'm getting it. For those that think, "GROSS!! Cloth diapers?", it's actually not any different when it comes to the gross factor. They're clean when they go on her. And the laundry that I would hate to do? It's not so bad. I love hanging them out to dry outside. It's like a rainbow of diapers, and how could that not put a smile on your face?
